how do we "go back a version", so we can play the MODS?

my question is in bold

ummm, I've been playing stardock games for years and i'm finally sick and tired of the crappy crap. everyone else who has a RTS game first off knows where to place the MODS at... namely in the MOD folder in the game, but sins has to be stupidly different and hide the damn file in Doc & settings crap!!

Secondly, WTF is it with the patch maker of sins anyways???? the only thing your damnable patches seem to do for my gaming with sins is to DENI me to pleasure of playing the mods i have already installed.

SO HERE'S AN IDEA.... STOP MAKING ANY MORE DAMN PATCHES EVER!!!!!! Your patches are a damn waste of time!

Rather what you should do is make the game easier for the mods to work with each of your stupid patches!!!!!

I want to go back to the last sins version and the last entrenchment version so i can play the mods that i enjoy!!! oh and because i have had to write this type of message to the makers of sins, it's highly doubtful that I will be making another purchase of your games!!

This is NOT customer service at all!

It's called archiving your old versions. dont like the new ones, bring back the old. ur fault for not thinking ahead. r the devs supposed to leave the game crappy instead of patching it? Its a video game, it gets improved.

You can setup auto archives for the game each time it is updated so you can roll back if need be. To do this, click the blue menu button in the upper left of Impulse and then choose 'Preferences'. Click 'Archive & Install' on the left and then place a check in the box that says 'Archive Applications before updating'. Obviously this will not help for now but going forward it will.

Mike Snyder: I'm not sure everyone shares your sentiment regarding game patches being a waste of time. While it would certainly be ideal if there were more backwards compatibility with newly introduced patches, I trust the judgement of the Sins team and management regarding their decision here. Though I have never seen the code personally, my guess is that introducing such a feature would significantly slow down the update-release schedule because there may be too many cases to test for.

Grabbing archives of versions you prefer to stay on (by either right clicking Sins and choosing 'Download and Archive' or using the method Gargabee suggested) would really be your best bet. It might not hurt to ask the author of said mods to update the mod for newer versions either.

Yeah, Stardock! Horrible customer service! You keep putting these patches out then I install them and...! TERRIBLE! You should release a game and never touch it again!
