Achievement: Go Big or Go home

This is the acheivement where you win with caps only - is it possible to complete if Quick start is set? I won a SP game last night with quick start set and you start with 2 scouts, but otherwise I didnt build a single frig and I didnt get the achievement.

Any thoughts?

I have been wondering about that, too. It's propably a bug. I think scouts and colony frigates should be excluded.

You can't have any frigates when completing this achievement. That should cause quick-start to automatically result in failure. This necessitates using a colony capital ship and playing on maps that don't have neutral extractors.

well you could destroy your frigates. I think you could have during the game but none when the "You Won" message comes up.

No Mooster. I tried that. You cannot build any frigs, at all. Cant use Quick start either.

One of the small 1v1 maps very conveniently starts you directly adjacent to the enemy homeworld. Don't remember what it's called off hand.

Play Vasari against an easy comp, get an egg, and melt his factories. By this time you should have a second cap to finish the job. If you're having trouble, retreat back to a repair bay and try again. You shouldn't have to capture a single world.

It's called Point Blank. Build Mazra, go next door and destroy. Build second Mazra when able. You win and get the achievement. My guess is turn quick start off so as not to get the scouts.

One thing to note. Start one crystal extractor and one metal extractor right away at your home world. You start earning metal and crystal even before construction starts on the extractors. Cool huh?!?
