Well, since everyone else is mentioning Moo3, and Spore, I just did as well. Awful at best.
I got Star Wars - The Force Unleashed for my Wii, disregarding the mediocre reviews. Now, the story is great but the gameplay is dull and hardly as lightsaber-awesome, as it should have been... Don't buy it. Even the duel mode isn't fun.
Oblivion got my negative vote as well. A bland mix really. Some excellent quests, but things just do not persist as well as they should. You are still regarded as an obnoxious stranger, even though you managed to become arena champion and grandmaster of the mages guild... Also, the level scaling of enemies and gear... Just... No... Morrowind was such an awesome experience and seem to have a lot more soul.
Red Alert 3... Sigh!
- I do strongly disagree with a lot of people here though (while skimming the replies). Left4Dead is amazing in a LAN, DawnOfWar 2 is also quite a fun game and Sins of a Solar Empire is nothing short of excellent. Period.
Now, if we could just get a release date for StarCraft 2...
