Labs and ship/structure build speed

I recall reading somewhere in the game that military labs also increase build speed of ships at that planet, and civic labs also increase build speed of orbital structures.

Is this actually true?

I built 2 military labs at a planet with a frigate factory and the build time given in the tooltips for ships didn't change at all.

No. Atleast, I've never heard of such a thing.

You can increase the build speed and the frigate build speed, by building civ labs on tech

I believe 7 for increase frigate build speed

and 1 believe 1 for increase build speed

It says it in the TEC lab tooltips Silfarion.

Don't quite understand you Mooster. You need 7 civ labs to increase frigate build speed?

There is a TEC upgrade that requires 7 civilian labs which dramatically increases frigate build speeds.

Oh, yeah I know that. This appears to refer to something entirely different to research. Here's what it says when you hover the cursor over the labs.

Military lab - "Gives the ability to research new military technologies. Each lab also slighty improves the build times for frigates and capital ships."

Civilian lab - "Gives the ability to research new civilian technologies. Each lab also slightly improves the build times for orbital structures."

Anyone noticed this secondary effect?

i know of this.....

cant say ive noticed any changes, especially after the industrial juggernaut upgrade (that one with the 7 civilian labs)

could be that u need like 10-15 more to make a noticable increase?

What'd be the point then though?

It says each one increases it slightly - now it's possible it does but it doesn't reflect a change in the 'build time' tooltip. So even though it says a Garda takes 32sec to build, and after building 3 military labs at that planet (though I don't even know if this is supposed to be planet specific) it still says a Garda will take 32sec, it's actually taking 30 or 31 seconds.

I don't know, I'll try checking it sometime.

anyone got the metrics on this? could actually change build orders in overall strategies
