I came home
and caught my kids
stealing cookies
etc.
When I went
the monkey in
the tub of
jello that you
just gave away
teh the other
family next door
who have been
covertly playing leapfrog
under the tree
in McArthur Park
in the rain
where a cake
with sweet green
icing and cherries
all around, someone
picked it up
and threw it
right at me
but still, you
would not believe
the quick defensive
sidestep I took
which left the
gal beside me
panting with exertion
