Crysis Warhead

Who's Buying crysis warhead?

Well after almost a year of playing Crysis i'm looking forward to Crysis warhead and was just wonderin how much of you guys where planning on buying it?i'' getting it no second thoughts. Leave a Comment.

Ill be buyin it, cos I like playing games. No other reason (other than it has guns and will be better than Crysis).

it looks heaps better than the original Crysis basically Crysis the way it should be but i might hold off on buying it for a few months. If so i would buy from a shop.

I'll be getting it, I enjoyed Crysis (until the alien parts) and Crytek have openly admitted that they made some mistakes in that regard that have been learnt from for Warhead.

The redesigned multiplayer sounds good too, I enjoyed the original's multiplayer even though it was still an after-thought. It'll be good to see what it'll be like now.

Yep, I really loved Crysis, and must have played through the SP campaign over 10 tens... I just can't wait for new content, especially the open world content. FarCry 2 looks promising too, but I think Crysis is where it's at on PC this year.

Even though they say this is going to run better on our GPU's of last year, I still think I'm going to upgrade my 8800GT, it's a great card.  but it's only "ok" with Crysis. I can run settings on High, but I can't even touch the AA of AF settings which I wouod like to test out in Warhead...now the question is, which GPU is going to give me that boost to last for a while..

Either way, I was hopeing Crysis would be available here at Impulse, oh well.  I ended up going  with STEAM over Gamestop, which I just can't support any longer. But that's for a whole blog post into intself

I loved Crysis too. It took a while to get it to run well on the 8800gtx, and I actually ended up running it in DX9 with the tweaked config for higher quality. So I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how Warhead will perform. I actually liked all the alien parts except the inside of the ship, that was just annoying.

Anyway, I've got Warhead preordered on Steam, it should be released by the time I get home from work

I've decided not to get Warhead (not the retail one anyway) because of its DRM implementation, which is the now-infamous 3 installs and you're out drudgery apparently.

Maybe I'll pick up the Steam version sometime if the game is really that good. For now I've got lots of other non-overly protected DRM infested titles to look forward to.

 

I don't think I'll ever purchase another EA game again thats loaded with DRM, Spore was the last straw after I got not only smacked with the ridiculous DRM, but you can only have one account (with no options for multiple profiles) per serial AND you can only obtain the patches through EA's piss poor download manager that I promptly uninstalled after I noticed it was tacked on with Spore.

I've already crossed off Red Alert 3 off my purchasing list, I don't care if it ends up being the best game on earth its not worth it having to jump through hoops and be treated like a criminal for a game that I forked out money for.

I don't buy retail boxes anymore if I can help it. The last box I got was Space Siege, but that's only because I didn't know if it was going to be hosted as a digital DL anywhere. Of course, once it launched and my box shipped it popped up on Steam and D2D, if I had known I'd have gotten it through either of those instead

Crysis was the first game i bought to test out this new rig, and i have warhead preordered. The reviews and videos look really good, though it seems that everyone has a nanosuit now. There also seems to be a lot of aliens in warhead too, but apparently CryTek has tweaked the alien AI to behave more like NK troops, though i had no problem with the aliens to begin with, neither had a problem with trigens in FarCry. Actually, i'm worried about FarCry 2, if it has no aliens or mutants, won't it get boring ?

 

About DRM, it seems that the three activation limit version of SecuRom is now a standard in EA's games. It hasn't caused problems to me yet, but if it will, i will not hesitate to look for "third party" solutions.

 

Speaking of EA's games, how about Dead Space? Looks quite interesting too.

Dead Space does look interesting, but it's one I will probably get for the Xbox if the reviews are good

You will be too busy prying bullets from your limbs with a red-hot knife in Far Cry 2 to get bored...

Thinking of getting Warhead. Loved Crysis, even the alien parts.

Got it on release day, beaten it a few times now, it is freaking awesome.  I HIGHLY reccomend it, even if you don't have the first Crysis, its just that good.  The graphics are amazing, there is some more variety in the aliens you encounter, you get to fight more nanosuit Koreans, you get a couple of new weapon options that are very handy.

Still testing it now but custom CVars seem to work in Warhead, so im sure the community will be awash with custom warhead configs soon enough.

The DRM... not as draconian as Spore, with Warhead you have unlimited installs on up to 5 different rigs, that I can accept.  Once you verify online on install you DON'T need the game disc anymore, which is nice.

The Bad- It's too short, I want more! but you get that with a 30 dollar pseudo expansion.  However the varying levels of difficulty are just that, varied.  Normal seemed iddiot easy while Hard was quite a challange and Delta I'm still working through.

You do need a monster system to really enjoy it, The framerates seem improved over the first, but you still need a card in the 8800 range and preferebly better to really go at it.

Purchace Warhead and support Crytek, they are showing what the future of PC gaming can and should be... IF they don't abandon it and go to the consol systems. I hope enough folks will buy Warhead so they stay with the PC.

Yeah, I got it off Steam and been having a blast so far. Going to try Crysis Wars this weekend too at some point.

My pre-ordered copy failed to make it for the weekend , but at least i have The Witcher EE to keep me busy. It seems that everyone loves Warhead, so i'm looking forward to getting it.

I'm still debating getting Warhead, myself.

I've bought 3 games recently from EA, and only one has turned out good.  And that game was done by EA Mythic (Warhammer online, smoothest MMO launch ever, and actually fun!). The other two were totally unsatisfying for what they were advertised to be - Command and Conquer 3 was an utter failure, and so was Spore (Space phase = boring, monotonous, and the AI has fleets while you have to micromanage everything?!)

Additionally, Crysis (The original one) began to have a problem where, starting at the Carrier and continuing to an unbearable point, saving takes an eternally long period of time (I'm talking 5-7 minutes) on the rare occasions when saving doesn't crash the game.  This makes me understandably leery of buying Warhead.  But on the other hand, Crysis was the most recent first-person shooter in memory I actually enjoyed in SP.

I haven't had any issues with saving in Warhead, but I do remember the carrier in Crysis being a bit over the top, it slowed my system to a crawl even though it went through the earlier levels just fine.

There was one time in Crysis where it unexplicably stalled, but after restarting the game everything was smooth again.

I would've bought Crysis Warhead, if the SP (single player) portion wasn't protected by Securom Intenet Edition without any revokes. The MP portion sounds more fair than the SP with its restriction.

I don't like the idea of activation for SP portions of games, but I can tolerate it. I don't like the idea of having revokes and all, but it's a little more acceptable than having the EA-style of Securom of activation required with no revokes allowed (see Spore, Mass Effect PC, and Crysis Warhead).

Personally, I prefer the GOG and Stardock way of doing business -- no DRM period.
