Ironclad,
I discovered this game while it was still in development around three years ago. I heard about it on the Homeworld 2 forums, and became intensely interested. I immediately joined the official forum at the time (this was before Stardock became the publisher). I remember great discussions about game ideas and actual implementations in the game.
After Stardock signed on, I stopped using the forums. The new format and the new attitude did not appeal to me. Then a couple years later I got wind that Sins o a Solar Empire was going to be released this year. In February, I purchased it. I was way excited as I had been following development since the beginning.
After the installation I fired the game up. After watching the beginning cinematic, I was even more excited. I turned the graphics up all the way and started a skirmish.
I was almost immediately disappointed, the graphics did not please me and the lack of scale was discouraging. I put the game away and did not touch it for a few months.
Yesterday, a friend of mine convinced me to give it another shot. Again, I fired the game up. But this time I was not disappointed. I realized that I thought it looked bad due to the fact that I had been playing a lot of Universe at War (which has ridiculously good graphics).
After my friend taught me some of the basics, I became entranced and played for a long, long time. Ironclad, I give my props to you. You have created a new type of space-based RTS. It is so entirely complete and solid that I could play it for days straight.
Great job, Ironclad.
