Haha, I'm glad I'm able to provide you with some food for thought to actually create a somewhat decent article (compared to you "on" series).
Allow me to pick on you, feel free to delete at your choosing.
Now, I may be quoting out of context here, but I have been told that as a gamer I have no place on JU, and I should crawl back into the same old gaming sites I frequent.
First I will give you some advise, take it or leave it, I don't care. If you have doubts about your own opinions, such as not being sure if the above is out of context or not, you should probably avoid saying anything at all that could get you into more dilemmas than you were planning to solve. here are my exact words that lead to this article:
A quick search on your name revealed you are a gamer so why don't you go stick to gamer sites like you had before you came here? I believe that there is nothing wrong with being a gamer, it is simply a part of my identity.
It seems obvious that my point was that you spent a lot of time on gaming sites so that would seem to be what suits you better than what you are doing here. The fact that this site has a gaming section and that the owner of this site is also the owner of StarDock and creates games such as GalCiv, it would seem really stupid for anyone to suggest you have no place on this site because you are a gamer.
Just so you know I am a gamer. I am a hardcore Call Of Duty 4 player. My name is BraveStarr and I belong to The Brotherhood Clan so my name online is [BHC]BraveStarr. I also play Call Of Duty United Offensive and Call of Duty 2. Now that you know a little bit about me, stop acting as if we are picking on you for being a gamer simply because somehow we are not.
I've been called thin skinned, but it's because I've been trained to fight back at every insult until I win the battle.
First of all this is the dumbest thing anyone can do in their lives. Learn to pick in choose your battles, so fights are not worth fighting. I'm not sure what kind of training you are talking about but what ever it is, it's not working. You still have a lot to learn young padawan. What they should have taught you was to be an adult and learn that petty back and forth arguments in a childish manner is pointless and in the end no one wins. Win the battle? Child, you need to grow up already. People come here to debate not to do battle; the purpose of a debate is to put your point across, not to defeat your opponent. If you are confident in your opinion and can back up your comments with facts then you have nothing to defend or worry.
I've been called paranoid, but I believe that with anonymity, if somebody says something negative, they mean the worst. And in experiences I've had, it's true. Granted they may not apply to JU, but why should they not be welcomed as a part of who I am.
Maybe you should try not to assume the worse all the time. Generalizing everyone under a single thought is a very ignorant way to live life. First you say your experiences prove this to be true then you say this may not apply to JU, which would suggest your theory is wrong because you found proof that says otherwise. Contradiction is a really bad thing to do on JU, especially with google's cache keeping record of everything you and everyone else writes.
Is being homosexual or religious a reason to stay off JU? Is being from a minority group a reason to stay off JU? Is having a opinion a reason to stay off JU? Everyone says no to the earlier questions, or almost everyone. I cannot take that for granted, I've noted. Gamers are a group just as Mexicans are a group, Catholics are a group, and homosexuals are a group. There's no devaluation in any of their opinions due to their background. So why is being a gamer a reason to stay away from JU? Sure some gamers are violent reckless pigs, but consider that games can communicate both violence and peace.
Get over yourself already. Being a gamer is just that, being a gamer. No religion, no race, no culture, no dress style. You play games, period. Should people who play sports be called sporters and have a culture of their own? Should people who love cars be called automobilers?
Let's stick to the facts here, you are lousy at making articles and at debating them. You are lousy at defending yourself and you are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too sensitive. Being part of a blogging community means that you will have people who will agree and people who will disagree with you. You will have nice people and you will have unpleasant people. If you can't deal with this, then maybe blogging is not for you. One things for sure, you need to grow up already. It's one thing to get into silly arguments with a fellow JU blogger that become more like entertainment to others than actually making a point, but it's another to be thick headed and not listen when some are actually being nice or trying to help you or basically saying the truth and instead argue like a disrespectful child regardless of how wrong you may be.
