Thugs, hoodlams, wanna-be's oh my!!

Well as I elluded to on Sally Jacob's blog on one of her posts.... a few days ago I was walking home from work and got jumped.

Well it started out as a normal walk home from work. I get about 1/2 block from the store, and of course the lady at the corner decides to ask me if I want to have a good time... I asked her if she was talking about scrabble, because I'd love to play scrabble!! Yet apparently she was talking about something else because she gave me an odd look and "harumphed" and walked away saying "scrabble" in a questioning way....

Well I laugh to myself and keep on going and get to be about 1 block from home (it's only a 2 block walk) and suddenly I'm hit in the back of the head with something solid. I notice I'm now on the ground, and these 3 white guys dressed in Fubu and the goofiest bandana's I've ever seen are standing around me with their arms crossed "trying to look goofy".

Well.. I'm not known for having the brightest of intentions at times... here I am with three guys surrounding me and obviously wanting something from me that I shouldn't be wanting to give up... so of course, I laugh... I got a good laugh out of it. These guys were just skinny... like bean pole skinny... and trying to look ganster and I couldn't help myself.

Well one of them had a bat and proceeded to crack me in the shoulder with it. The bum got a lucky hit on me and hit me right on top of the ball of my shoulder at the right angle to dislocate it. and then cracked me once more on my side.

Luckly for me at that time the po-po showed up. Apparently one of the residents on the other side of the street had seen what was going on and had called them and the responding unit had been only a block or two away.

Our wanna-be thugs immediately tried to bolt. The cop got one of them basically as he was stepping out of the car, and I was able to trip up one. The third got away, but I was told yesterday that they'd caught him. They are all three up on charges of assault and I get to go to court to testify against them in a month or so. The cop asked if I needed an ambulance but I turned that down and just asked if one of the incoming responding officers would just take me to the hospital and drop me off.

The hospital IMO was the worst part of the whole ordeal lol Since I dont' have insurance, I have to worry about how much money I spend, so I had to basically demand they NOT work on my shoulder at all, and proved to them I could put it back into socket on my own by just doing it after I got tired of trying to just explain it. I got a CAT scan and came out with a small concussion, and the x-rays reveal I had 3 cracked ribs, luckly not broken.

So right now I have a nice chest wrap and am told I can't sleep on my stomach. I've been given Oxy's for my shoulder and ribs, and I'm supposed to be taking a lot more than I'd have thought I should.. and I'll admit they are pretty much f'ing me up. Makes work a lot of fun though

So that's my short adventure of the wanna-be thugs. My shoulders already healed. I've had a lot of dislocations so it's nothing new to me. The ribs though are still really sore but are slowly getting better so I'm not too worried about it Real funny thing, that my roomates can't understand is that the next day I went to work, and walked home
