Ok, so you're probably thinking, she's not my mommy! Yeah, you'd be right. But I guess it's one of those rehtorical(sp?) questions. I'm only 15 and have no clue what it's like to be a mother. I've spent my whole life with my mom. Every single day. Unless of corse I was with a friend or somthing, but you get what I'm saying. I'm not all that close with her as I would like to be, but it's good enough for now. When I was growing up, my mom didn't have a job. She decided to stay home and take care of me. We lived in a really old farm house, built back in the mid 1800's. Mom usually didn't go anywhere unless she had to go to the store or take me to the doctor. She was always there for me, unlike my dad. He was working two jobs, and I hardly ever saw him. Sometimes I would get to see him on weekends and sometimes I wouldn't because of his jobs. He was, well you could say, forced to work two jobs since my mom wasn't working. Yeah, you're thinking, well why didn't your mom just get you a babysitter and find her self a good paying job?? Well see, when my mom was little she lived with her mom and two little brothers, no dad at all. He had left them for nothing. My grandma had to work all the time and my mom when she wasn't old enough to stay by herslef with the boys at home, had to go to a babysitter. She hated babysitters. It seemed that everytime no matter who the sitter was they were always mean and abusive. So I guess that's why she never had a babysitter for me. Unless it was my grandma, but she does have a life too.
Well now it's been 15 years I'm old enought to stay home with my two little brothers. My mom finally got a job not too long after my first little brother was born. Let me tell you it wasn't much of a job either. It was the dreaded babysitting. She continued this job untill just last month. During the time she was babysitting my dad still had two jobs to keep up on the bills, etc. We weren't poor, but we weren't rich either. Finally my mom babysat enough kids to make a good amount of money. So then my dad only had to work one job. So now I was able to see my dad more often, but still not a whole lot. He soon started into boyscouts with my brother and was always camping or something. So that meant that if my mom had to go somewhere I had to watch my other brother plus the kids that she was babysitting. Let me tell you only being 12 years old and watching like seven kids at a time wasn't an easy job, and I wasn't even getting paid for this. lol. Now I'm 15(i think i already said that) and my mom finally got a "real" job instead of baby sitting. So for the past three weeks I've had to play her role as "Mommy" at home to my two little brothers. It's not one bit easy at all. I'm never sitting down, never on the computer during the day. I'm always doing dishes and cleaning up every little thing around the house to keep up. I think I've actually lost some weight from always being on my feet now. lol. So I guess that's always a plus. So now I'm thinking I have the gist on what it takes to be a mother, well besides the giving birth to a child part. I now know what my mom had to do for us everyday. Like, making us lunch, and dinner. Getting us where we're supposed to be. Making sure we're dressed right, etc.
So I guess I owe a lot to my mom for all she's done for me. Now I know the pain she goes through everyday from putting up with her three kids. lol. And let me tell you, it ain't the least bit easy......So if I'm not the mommy who is??
