Can you tell I despise them? |
The way you feel about you child's school is much the same way I feel about my child's school.
I went to eat lunch with my son one day earlier this year. It was 40 degrees and raining, but they still got shut outside on the playground after lunch. No shelter, no cover...shut out in the rain. I asked if this was normal, and the lunch ladies said it was. I complained to the principal, who said that kids "are tough, a little rain won't hurt 'em". Hmm...so when my child is ill and I send him to school...and you call me and tell me I ought to come get him because he's probably contagious, can I tell you that "kids are tough, a little strep won't hurt 'em"? I think not.
I see the same thing in my neighborhood as well. We have 2 days of 65 degree weather and everyone packs away their winter clothes and sends their kids off to school in shorts and t shirts. Doesn't matter that it's 45 degrees, the sun's out so it's short sleeve and sandal weather, right?!
Morons....I am an island of sanity in a sea of morons......
