Soase is an incredible game as it has incorporated so many great concepts from other games into one excellent package. When I say incorporated, I know it has been said that some of the technologies (huge zoom levels and zoom scrolling, etc) were a part of the engine and developed exclusively in house even before other games featured them. Irregardless, the look of Homeworld, the tech tree depth of Civ, the lane connected planets of SW:EAW and the control/choke points which are created, the zoom levels and zoom scrolling of Supcom...the way these are all combined so well is amazing and makes this game a gem to play. I haven't even mentioned the empire tree (still learning how to fully take advantage of that really convenient implement), the variety in the ships (especially capital ships) and factions, researching for rare artifacts, developing your planets...etc etc etc. Wonderful game! The pace, the gameplay, the epic feel are spot on...Soase even inspires me to study more on astronomy! How about that, a fun thinking man/woman's rts that is educationally inspirational! Pay attention marketing

I have only been playing since release but have enjoyed many long games against the AI. That being said, I come up with only 2 suggestions thus far for this solid title.
1. I wish the diplomatic options in sp were expanded. I'd like to be able to push missions on the AI the same way they push missions (which affect your standing depending on completion or failure) on me. I propose AI personalities, random and faction based. Say I decided to push a 'give credits' mission on an AI...they could respond in several ways, one being dependent on their fear if my forces are far superior to theirs (a give credits mission could optionally be a 'show some goodwill to me' gesture without ramifications for war or it could be a threat), another way could be if they are a friendly, ally seeking AI personality and always look to gain good favor with anyone depending on their means at the time and past dealings with that faction, and of course another could be just to ignore you or show disdain for you as they might be a power hungry war centric AI personality. Diplomacy in sp needs to be more robust imo.
2. Capital ships need to feel more powerful against the lesser frigates...I think they should be able to overwhelm their shields and take them down faster than they do now. It should be harder for a capital ship to get a lock on say a scout frigate, but once they do, that scout should be turned to space dust very quickly.
