Ships at the star

When you have ships at the main star, and you have them on different sides of the star. One group is a fighter/bomber group, and you want to move all your ships/fighters/bombers to one side, the ships will go around the star while the fighters/bombers decide to fly through it. Seems to me a larger ship would have a better chance of flying through the star. It's a little nitpicky but just something I noticed.

Fighters/bombers flying through planets/suns has existed for a while Big ships probably won't be doing that, though, and strikecraft doing it is probably a side effect of how they're designed, I'm not sure.

Actually, I think its an effect of the actual fightings going either over/under the sun, or around it in both directions.

The unit you "see" on the map isn't actually the fighters, its an abstract called "squadron", which contains the data of the entire strike group, and its position is determined by averaging the units of the strike group... hence the icon flies through a star.

The question that begs is why the squadrons are splitting to go round the star. I'm pretty sure they fly in tight formation, so that might not be the answer, even though it was the first I thought of.
