Use of "Super Wepon" in Beta 4

I'm new to the betas but i was wondering why we couldn't use the Big Cannon that was used in beta 1.

The Novalith cannon has never been released to the beta testers. It won't appear until the final release.

Anyway, If you're referring to this cannon:



That's the Vasari Super Weapon Uber Cannon thing. We've never seen the Novalith and we have no idea what the Advent super is (can we have a pic Yarlen??!)

We really have no idea There was a bunch of speculation about what the Novalith would do, but we never got anything official, as far as I can remember

GREAT! more things to obsess over between now and February! Like I didn't have enough to think about with this game! I think this pre-order/beta thing is great but there is something that worries me...
Will the actual game leave me dissappointed after dreaming(not obsessing about it:)) for so long?
Otherwise, I am about to start posting on other unreleased game sites that they need to use this model for their games!!!

Good point. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out there may not be much of a campaign. I am not much into multiplayer(not enough time in one sitting) so the campaign is usually what I need from the game! So, my stomach churned a bit at that knowledge. Still, overall, the game is awesome!

The statement we got about the campaign was vague enough that it can mean several things If you define a 'traditional campaign' as most RTS games go - briefing > mission map > stats screen > briefing > mission map > stats ...., then already quite a few games don't have a traditional campaign We just won't know unless we get more info, or see the finished product I wouldn't feel disappointed just yet, though!

Ya, I would prefer something defferent then the above. Like an opening scene and ending one, but everything in the middle would be free for all. I am not a big fan of mission driven games, but something other then me just doing a random map everytime I want to play...

wrong, we know the novalith is a long range planet siege with a range of 2 phasejumps away.

on a lot of small maps you shouldnt let your enemy get this far. speaking of which this could cause some serious "no man land" gameplay...

I think the only official information released on the Novalith was in the October edition of PC Gamer.

I would build it on a planet right next to the star to cover the most planets. Also, the pirate base won't last long. Chew on that you pirates!

Fierce battles could erupt to deny the TEC a system two jumps from the Vasari homeworld! Kind of like island hoping during the war in the pacific. Could really add new strategies to epic games.
