Hi everyone; so this is my second map: The Badlands;
The Star of Tortuga is a vicious hive of scum and villainy! All of your homeworlds are modified pirate bases; with 25 pop, pirate loot,a bit more logistical slots (up to 20 with upgrades) and 5 resource asteroids! (3 Metal and 2 Crystal).
The map has 3 planets, an ice on a faraway spiral arm accessible to one player only; but further out from the ice is its own angry Pirate Base; Darkside
Only accessible from the Red Star itself is Hades; 50% of the time it is a Pirate Base, the other 50% of the time it is a Volcanic planet with 7 metal asteroids! But remember it is always populated by pirates so you will have to bombard it before colonizing!
All other habitable spots on the map choose from 15 possible different asteroids! 4 of which are dead asteroids, some have different abilities such as the Solar Regeneration or Magnetic Cloud and Plasma Storm, Asteroid Fields also sometimes have these abilities! The various asteroid choices have different numbers of resource asteroids, some have only one or 2, most have 3, and a couple have 4 or 5... the ones with 4 and 5 are almost always High Gravity, or have some negative consequence such as the explosive Gas ability.
The Uninhabitable spots on the map randomly choose between two types of asteroid fields, the default and one which disables fighters, and 4 types of clouds; the default magnetic and plasma clouds; as well as a Plasma Storm which has the Additional ability of preventing anti-matter abilities, and a Magnetic Cloud which regenerates anti-matter. Some spots are always a field.
So if people are interested in trying this that would be great; You will find that resources are plentiful but the amount of enemy pirates and their proximity make you use it quick! I can email interested people the files; remember to play online with these we all have to match file-wise, and make sure you back up! We can also set a set time to play sometime this week?
Well even if no-one is interested in playing this map it is at least cool as a learning experience to modding!
