The tie breaker for fastest game isn't when you finish a game but when you submit it to the league. This was the only area where mumble's rough list was wrong.

When you submit a game early into to the MVL, you are taking a gamble that your game wont be surpassed. This was the tie breaker of the fastest game BP category.

I am extremely sorry for the miscount and hope that this can be condoned. Most of all, I apoligize to Vilgan. Further clarification on this matter will be given by Neilo.

No, you are wrong.

The tiebreaker definitely was the MV submission date and not the submission date to the league. At least that was the rule at the begining of the round. Whether tiebreakers get changed or eliminated completely for the next round is still up in the air. I'm really too tired at the moment to go chasing through all our threads to prove this plus we're going to be changing it one way or another for the next round so the point is probably moot, but you are incorrect on this point.

However, as Xei Win Toh and you both point out the score remains the same regardless of this mistake. However you do have a typo between Piznit and Xei Win Toh, certainly one must have been 2nd and the other 3rd, you have them both listed as 3rd.

The other point is that as I remember it, there was no penalty for slowest game. Certainly if you look at the summary of the round in the OP of the
MV League Round 2 it lists a lowset score penalty but no slowest game penalty. We may have added it somewhere else, I'm not totally certain about that though. However again this makes little difference in the outcome so it's not that big a deal.

I do agree with you on the Team D scoring because they don't get Macmatt's presumed 2 points for finishing a game they are in effect being penalized for Macmatt's excused absence but it's an awkward situation and I assume you got Neilo's input on how to deal with it.

I do want to thank FireBender for all of this work because I know what a pain all of this is. It's true all of the scores are in one thread but you still have to check a few profiles for some omitted information and you also have to go searching through about 5 threads for where the rules have been discussed. That's why it's so important to have all rules and settings listed in the OP of the MVL round thread.

Certainly as long as you're willing to admit that there's a possibility that you're wrong then that's not arrogance.

Even though the point is beating a dead horse, I do have the following quote to prove that it was MV submission time and *not* submission to the thread that counts. This is the second time I've had to point this quote out, having already done so once in Reply #89 of the MV League Round 2 thread. Anyway specifically in Reply #120 of this thread where Neilo says towards the end of his reply.



Also while I'm in the process of quoting to prove that things I've said all along are true you can also check out Neilo's reply #21 in the MV League Round 2 thread where he agreed that this month we would try my suggestion of leaving ties as they are.




In conclusion it is a real major pain to have to weed through all of these threads to have to prove that the things that you've said are true. I'm sure FireBender is well aware of the work that this takes. Let us try and learn from this and try to keep all relevant information in each Round's thread so folks don't have to search hundred's of posts for this stuff.

No it really isn't hard. You can always edit the OP of a thread so when you post the details of round 3 the first order of business is to make sure that all the relevant details are in that OP. If they aren't I will be sure to point out what is missing and you can simply add it. I do think everything has basically been discussed and resolved except for the issue of how a non-submittal is treated in the teams base score (not bonus points) for teams of 4 players versus 5 players. This has been discussed in the discussion thread and definitely needs to be addressed prior to the start of round 3. What is lacking is your comment on the issue.

Anxiously awaiting the outcome, with my red pencil firmly in hand.

Actually, I think it's a good idea for everyone to do this one their own as well. For one thing that would certainly be enough checking to ensure the correct results. Secondly, I think it would give everyone a true appreciation as to how much effort this takes.

BTW I did a complete re-verify of my own post and found one minor issue that did not affect scoring other than the one that KzintiPatriarch pointed out that did affect the final outcome. I will be looking to compare your results to mine.

Damn it FireBender. This is messed up, checked and verified by Neilo notwithstanding.    Also, misleading comments as to pending results are really not helpful in situations that are confusing to begin with.

Only four games count towards base score. You've dropped one game from both 6 and 5 man teams. This is incorrect. Base score was 4 men at the start of the round and remained unchanged. 6 man teams drop 2 scores from base score and 5 man teams drop one.

My initial posting was correct with the exception of assigning the Cultural Conquest score bonus to Xei Win Toh instead of KzintiPatriarch. Correcting this gives the following results. The only other issue with my post was a switch between Neilo's and Ghostwes' scores of 14000 and 12000 respectively which had no effect on the scoring.
