I will. She's flying in on the 25th of April and will be here until May 16th. I'm INCREDIBLY happy about that!

I think you're right, Marcie. I know that there will be some tears, but that's ok; they need to be shed.
The kids will be taking at least a week off of school. They'll be almost through with the school year by then, and like I said - if they school doesn't like it they can kiss my arse.

Oh, I know! Dave and I will have to be on our best behaviour whilst she's here and will undoubtedly be fighting like cat and dawg after she leaves!
Here's hoping your mom's visit will be a warm, wonderful experience for you, but especially for your kids.
(PS - We took the boys out of school for most of Adrian's 2 week leave. The school didn't like that much, but they can suck it.) |
It's going to be fabulous, Tex. Even if we don't go anywhere or do anything, it'll still be awesome.
You know, you'd think that schools where the majority of the student body are military dependents would be a bit more understanding about kids being out of school because their parents are home, wouldn't you? It seems that just the opposite is true - they seem to be even less tolerant about kids being away than non-military schools are. Like you said, though - if they don't like it, they can suck it.

Dave and I were talking about that at lunchtime today, actually. He said that it's going to be interesting to see the kids reaction when she's here; they'll probably be asking me to translate all the time!
